Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to camp?
Please bring personal clothing, toiletries, bedding (depending on your accommodation), and any items listed in the packing list. Most essentials are provided, but it’s important to come prepared for outdoor activities and changing weather.
 
How many people can you accommodate?
Our Taupo campsite can comfortably accommodate to 198 people. Our Whakamaru site can accommodate up to 84 people. We also have several powered sites if you need extra space.
 
If your site wheelchair accessible? What about activities?
Yes, we have plenty of ramps around camp for access, and our rooms/bathrooms are accessible as well. Some activities are accessible, and for those that aren’t, we make sure there are alternative options so everyone can join in.
 
What does MiCamp provide?
We provide all the essentials for your stay, including toilet paper, hand towels, and cleaning equipment. Depending on your accommodation and booking type, additional items may be provided, please contact us if you are unsure.
 
Do you provide meals?
It depends on your booking. Some groups are fully catered, while others are self-catered and provide their own meals.
 
What is the menu for catered groups? Do you provide snacks?
Check out a sample menu! We also provide both morning and afternoon tea with delicious cakes, cookies and pastries.

What facilities are available on site?
Facilities vary by camp, but generally include accommodation, bathrooms and showers, shared outdoor spaces, and activity areas. Some sites also include larger meeting spaces and kitchens for group use.
 
What equipment is available (for presentations, etc.)?
We have an auditorium that seats approximately 170 people and is equipped with a sound system for presentations. A 52-inch TV screen is available and can be connected via an HDMI cable. The audio system connects directly to a laptop via a standard headphone jack.
If you are using an Apple device, please bring an appropriate HDMI adapter or dongle to ensure compatibility. We also have a projector available that can be used in our rec hall.

 
Do the accommodation units have cooking facilities?
No. The units do not have cooking facilities. They include a fridge and microwave only.
 
Are laundry facilities available?
Yes. Laundry facilities are available at both camps. Please bring coins as both sites require $2 coins to operate. Kitchen laundry machines are for kitchen use only.
 
What is provided for self-catered groups?
It depends on what you’ve booked and what you need. Please contact us if you would like specific details for your booking.
 
Is there supervision on site?
Camp staff are available to support your stay, but group leaders are responsible for supervising their own groups.
 
Is alcohol and smoking allowed on site?
All MiCamp sites are alcohol-free. However, we have designated smoking areas for those that need to smoke. Our camp staff can show you these on arrival.
 
Can I bring pets?
No pets are allowed, except registered assistance animals. Please let us know in advance if you are bringing one.
