Instructed Activities
Let the trained MiCamp Instructors guide you through these amazing activities. 1 hour or 1.5 hour sessions available.

Raft BuildingIn a sessions, the participants will learn to tie knots, work as a team to plan and build a raft and race their raft!
*Group must provide 1 supervisor for this activity. Bush CraftLearn about NZ Bush, how to care for it and how to survive in it with one of our trained instructors.

KayakingMiCamp Whakamaru is ideally situated for top quality Kayaking sessions. Come learn, play some games and explore our backyard!

Supervisor led Activities
The MiCamp Staff will train up an adult supervisor so that they understand the requirements of each activity, what they are required to do and their role and responsibility.
In order to ensure the competency of the supervision of the activities we require that the supervisors be assigned to an activity and not rotate with the group.

ArcheryLearn the skills required to aim & fire and bow & arrow. Test your aim with others in your group.
BMXGreat for Primary-Intermediate aged kids. Practices on our wooden obstacles before heading onto the track
GeocachingUsing a Garmin GPS the students need to find "waypoint" markers around camp whist learning about native trees
SwimmingA camp highlight!
Nothing beats a swim on a hot day or doing a manu off the pontoon. Sports PackHire our sports pack which includes, cricket gear, soccer ball, volley ball, rugby ball. Other items on request.

Air RiflesPeople of all ages get a kick out of loading and firing a rifle. The satisfying 'ping' when the slug pellet hits its target!
Bush CraftLearn about survival in NZ's bush! This activity works best when someone with outdoors/bush knowledge is running it
initiativies / Team BuildingA series of small activities that promote team work & initiative amongst the group
Sling Paint / PaintballChoose to shoot at targets or at each other in our paintball area. All paintballs are shot from slingshots not guns.
FireOur campfire is beautifully situated on the lake and is a great social area.

Burma TrailThe burma trail is always a winner. This is a great evening activity or can be done during the day with blindfolds.
Confidence CourseThe confidence course is a series of activities that need to be completed safely as a group

SlacklinePractice your balance and tricks on this worldwide craze. Perfect session for beginners.
Top TeamA great way to start or finish your camp. A series of small activities that all whole camp group rotates around.
Quality Living TalkThis is a free, values based, interactive talk given by MiCamp staff. In the 30min session (which can be run inside or outside) a staff member will run a game or two & share their talk. Talk subjects are often based around, valuing each other, stretching boundaries/potential or other positive messages for school students.

Other activities in the area (non-MiCamp Activities)
These are some suggested activities in the surrounding area. The group must ensure they have the correct RAMs / SOP's for running these activities.
Waikato River TrailsWiakato river trails goes right past camp. This is a basic-intermediate bike tracks and also makes for a really nice bush walk too.
Whakamaru / Atiamuri DamLake Whakamaru, which is part of the Waikato River has a dam at both ends. Some groups use this as an opportunity to teach students about hyrdro power.

FishingLake Whakamaru is full of trout (must be a license holder) along with that we get lots of rud in the summer which the kids (and adults) love to catch!
Orakei korako GeothermalsThis amazing geothermal walk is located 30mins away from camp. See their website for more details www.orakeikorako.co.nz

Pureora Forest ParkThe start of the Pureora Forest is only 20 mins drive from camp. It is filled will short to long, easy to hard tracks. See the DOC website for more info.
Rotorua / TaupoMiCamp Whakamaru is only 45 minutes from Rotorua and 35 minutes from Taupo. Both these locations have lots of attactions.
