Sample Programs
See below for an example of what a MiCamp activity programme could look like. We are also happy to work with you to design a programme that reflects the goals and values of your group.
Instructed Activities
Let the trained MiCamp Instructors guide you through these amazing activities. 1 hour or 1.5 hour sessions available.

In a sessions, the participants will learn to tie knots, work as a team to plan and build a raft and race their raft!
Climbing Wall
A great physical challenge, climbing on our wall will give participants the chance to challenge themselves to reach new heights. This activity requires a lot of teamwork from the whole group while they help belay each other.

MiCamp Whakamaru is ideally situated for top quality Kayaking sessions. Come learn, play some games and explore our backyard!
Zipline
Get a hit of adrenalin zipping down our tower; Enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Whakamaru from up high!

Hire an Instructor 
You may wish to hire one of our trained staff to instruct any of the 'supervisor led' activities or facilitate team building and leadership development programs.

Supervisor led Activities
The MiCamp Staff will train up an adult supervisor so that they understand the requirements of each activity, what they are required to do and their role and responsibility.
In order to ensure the competency of the supervision of the activities we require that the supervisors be assigned to an activity and not rotate with the group.

Archery
Learn the skills required to aim & fire and bow & arrow. Test your aim with others in your group.
Burma Trail
The Burma trail is always a winner. A great evening activity or can be done during the day with blindfolds.
Fire Pit
Our campfire is beautifully situated on the lake and is a great social area.

Practice your balance and tricks on this worldwide craze. Perfect session for beginners.
Spa Pools
Enjoy a nice relaxing time in our Spa area overlooking the beautiful Lake Whakamaru. *Groups max 10 people
Top Team
A great way to start or finish your camp. A series of small activities that all whole camp group rotates around.
Sports Pack
Hire our sports pack which includes, cricket gear, soccer ball, volley ball, rugby ball. Other items on request.

Archery Tag
An exhilarating combat game with bows and foam-tipped arrows. Participants will compete in teams and work together.
Bushcraft
Learn about survival in NZ's bush! This activity works best when someone with outdoors/bush knowledge is running it
GPS Wayfinding
Using a Garmin GPS the students need to find "waypoint" markers around camp whist learning about native trees.
Sling Paint
Choose to shoot at targets or at each other in our paintball area. All paintballs are shot from slingshots not guns.
Swimming
A camp highlight! Nothing beats a swim on a hot day or doing a manu off the pontoon.
Chess

Great for Primary-Intermediate aged kids. Practices on wooden obstacles before heading to the track
Confidence Course
The confidence course is a series of activities that need to be completed safely as a group
Orienteering
Learn about map reading skills on our Easy & Hard orienteering course. Be the group to find all the markers!
Slug Guns
People of all ages get a kick out of loading and firing a rifle. The satisfying 'ping' when the slug pellet hits its target!

A series of small activities that promote teamwork & initiative amongst the group

Other activities in the area (non-MiCamp Activities)
These are some suggested activities in the surrounding area. The group must ensure they have the correct RAMs / SOP's for running these activities.
Waikato River TrailsWaikato river trails goes right past camp. This is a basic-intermediate bike tracks and also makes for a really nice bush walk too.
Whakamaru / Atiamuri DamLake Whakamaru, which is part of the Waikato River has a dam at both ends. Some groups use this as an opportunity to teach students about hydro power.

FishingLake Whakamaru is full of trout (must be a license holder) along with that we get lots of rud in the summer which the kids (and adults) love to catch!
Orakei Korako GeothermalsThis amazing geothermal walk is located 30mins away from camp. See their website for more details www.orakeikorako.co.nz

Pureora Forest ParkThe start of the Pureora Forest is only 20 mins drive from camp. It is filled will short to long, easy to hard tracks. See the DOC website for more info.
Rotorua / TaupoMiCamp Whakamaru is only 45 minutes from Rotorua and 35 minutes from Taupo. Both these locations have lots of attactions.
